We made hoddeok!

Hoddeok are sweet pancakes filled with brown sugar syrup. We bought the instant kind from the supermarket. The directions were all in Korean so we just looked at the pictures and did what we thought we should do. They turned out alright. Didn't taste exactly how they do on the street, but they were edible!

Here's how they turned out and the link at the bottom of this post shows how you can make them at home from scratch! Should have looked this up before we made ours because we didn't let our dough rise!! Haha!

Make them yourself. Click here.

  1. Omg, did you read the comments section in the recipe link? One lady commented that the recipe brought back memories of her mom when she used to buy her some back in Seoul. But then moved to the US through adoption! What happened to her mom I wonder? Almost made me cry!! :(

  2. Yeah! You found out the name of these things. These pancakes were my absolute favorite vendor food in Korea. They were like the holy grail of vendor food because they aren't that easy to find. Sigh, I love reading your blog.....it totally brings me back :)
